STUDENT GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE

STUDENT GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE

In line with the UGC Guidelines (Gazette Notification: CG-DL-E-11042023-245095 dated 11 April 2023), the Gnanam School of Business, Thanjavur, has constituted a Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) to address and resolve student concerns promptly and fairly.

The SGRC also serves as the Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution, reinforcing our commitment to a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.

Objectives

  • Provide a safe and supportive platform for students to express grievances freely, with the assurance of confidentiality.
  • Ensure prompt and effective resolution of student grievances within stipulated timelines.
  • Offer counselling and guidance to students during the grievance process.
  • Promote mutual respect, harmony, and positive relationships within the student community.

Functions

  • Review and address grievances with fairness, transparency, and impartiality.
  • Follow principles of natural justice in all proceedings.
  • Submit reports and recommendations to the affiliating university when required.
  • Conduct regular feedback surveys to identify and address recurring student issues.

Grievance Redressal Process

(As per the UGC Redressal of Grievances of Students, 2023)

Step 1 – Submit Grievance:

Students can file grievances:

  • Through the online complaint form on the college website
  • By email
  • By dropping a written complaint in the designated grievance box

Step 2 – Referral to SGRC:

Complaints are forwarded to the SGRC within 15 days of receipt, along with institutional comments.

Step 3 – Hearing:

The SGRC will fix a date to hear the complaint and notify both the student and the institution.

The aggrieved student may present their case personally or through an authorized representative.

Step 4 – Escalation (if unresolved):

If not resolved by the SGRC within the prescribed time, the grievance will be referred to the Ombudsperson for further action. The Ombudsperson will hear all parties, issue a reasoned order, and provide copies to both the student and the institution.

Step 5 – Implementation:

The institution will comply with the Ombudsperson’s recommendations.

Step 6 – False Complaints:
