Alumni Interaction Program on Current Trends in Sourcing
Gnanam School of Business has arranged an Alumni Interaction Program titled “Current Trends in Sourcing” for the I Year Students. Ms.P.Kanimozhi, Sourcing and Procurement Specialist, Ford Business Solution acted as the Resource Person for the Program. The program was conducted during 04:30pm to 05:45pm in LH 1.
The session began with resource person posting a question to the students about their reason for joining the MBA program. It was an interactive session. Inspiration and aspiration is important in life. Industrial exposure refers to project where you will be allowed to get into the industries and you have to study the advantages and disadvantages faced by the company this also includes ensuring your team. For every individuals strategic thinking is important. Strategic thinking is nothing but taking everything in different way before others take things further. A stupid idea or an idea which slip from tongue may work as strategy that get you to success. Procurement and purchasing are now a days called as sourcing. Sourcing is the process of selecting suppliers to provide the goods and services you need to run your business, it may sound uncomplicated but the process can be complex, here in sourcing finding quality sources of goods and services is important.
The resource person also mentiond her strategy was to develop and improve along with her team but not as individual, it was the strategy which helped her in career growth. There will be lots of challenges if there is an experience person in your team, when you are not experienced as them, it will be difficult to transfer knowledge. To overcome barriers strategy, learning, updating is very important. When you are failing in something analyze the cause of failure. Working with your team will automatically lead every individual to success. Competition refers to companies selling similar products and has the same target audience to get more sales. Territory lead is the territory sales manager in oversees the daily sales operations of sales representatives that are assigned to a particular geographical area. Their main motive is to ensure that sales quotas for an assigned territory are met. In an organization one should adopt to culture stock, there will be different culture in an organization. The session was useful to student to know about organization, significant of sourcing and the process an individual do in an organization.
