Plogging – Picking up trash while jogging

Plogging Event is a social responsibility initiative organized by The Samaritans Club of Gnanam School of Business to promote environmental sustainability, fitness, and civic consciousness among students. This report documents the activity conducted, highlighting student participation, community engagement, and environmental awareness.

ACTIVITY HIGHLIGHTS:

The Plogging Event was conducted on 15th February 2026 in the early morning hours, with active participation from 50 students. The initiative began at 6:30 AM from the Gnanam School of Business campus and proceeded towards Velmurugan Heavy Engineering Industries Private Limited

The activity was carried out under the slogan, “Picking up trash while jogging,” combining physical exercise with environmental service. Students jogged along the designated route while simultaneously collecting roadside litter such as plastic covers, bottles, paper waste, and other non-biodegradable materials.

The event aimed to instil environmental responsibility and promote a clean and green surrounding. Through teamwork and dedication, participants demonstrated the importance of maintaining public spaces and taking collective action for societal well-being.

The initiative also served as a practical learning experience, emphasizing discipline, unity, leadership, and social commitment. The visible efforts of the students created awareness among the local public about cleanliness and sustainable practices.

The program concluded at 8:00 AM with refreshments, where coffee was provided to all participants as a token of appreciation for their enthusiastic involvement.
