Power Talk on “What the industry expects from MBA students

Gnanam School of Business hosted an inspiring Power Talk on “What the Industry Expects from MBA Students” at the GSB Auditorium under the Wings of Wisdom 2025–26 series.
The session was delivered by Fabian Figredo, Head of Human Resources at Shell India Markets Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, who shared valuable industry expectations and career guidance with MBA students.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest emphasized that career planning must begin with a clear five-year vision, continuous learning, and specialization through certifications. He highlighted the importance of building a strong LinkedIn presence, networking with professionals, and developing a strong personal brand to stand out in today’s competitive job market.
Mr. Figredo further noted that understanding basic labour laws, empathy in teamwork, and data visualization skills such as Tableau are becoming mandatory competencies for management graduates.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion where students clarified their career-related queries and gained practical insights into industry expectations. The event proved to be an eye-opening experience for MBA aspirants, equipping them with the right direction for their professional journey.
